Services to Stakeholders

The Office of the Governor-General is located in – and often referred to as – Government House. It is responsible for:

  • the provision of official services to the Governor-General and his/her household
  • the provision of official services to government agencies and organisations
  • arranging the Governor-General’s official activities at home and overseas
  • the Governor-General’s correspondence
  • liaising with Buckingham Palace on honours, awards and diplomatic credentials
  • liaising with the Office of the Prime Minister on all honours and awards
  • administrative arrangements for conferment of honours and awards
